Greed with win over Nevada will guaranty a Boise State BCS bowl against the Big 12 Champ.

While I was the only one in the wilderness who saw this coming two weeks ago now that it’s here

The BCS boys will be praying to the football Gods for Boise State to pull their arse out of the fire, so let me cut to the chase with the now announced ABC broadcast at 3:30 est; the powers that be want as many voting eyes on the sets to see Boise State display their goods to spare them the finical failure a MAC team would bring to the systems.

I’ll be working on a new one tonight!

Boise State with a win over Nevada will be headed to the Feista Bowl for a meeting with the Big 12 champs either K State ( a game that should have been played last year in the Sugar bowl) , or  a rematch with Oklahoma; with Kansas playing at home and Oklahoma playing @ TCU my money is on KSU being the match up.

I know many in Bronco Nation would take offense to Boise State jumping or even the slightest appearance that they jump a little sister of the poor, but consider this first. MAC school fan bases are small and don’t travel for crap; I don’t mean to be offensive but the reality is they generally can’t fill their home stadiums for a conference championship game let alone a short drive to Ford field for their best Bowl offering in the little Caesars bowl. On average the MAC Champ bowl game might draw 25,000 total fans and most of them will be from the 5th place B1G schools fan base. If their fans cared so much they wouldn’t be such bandwagoners. Bowl games have always been about three things Money, Rewarding teams and rewarding Fan bases while emptying their pocket books.

No doubt the BCS system learned an important lesson last year when they looked passed two top 10 ranked teams in Boise State and KSU and instead placed two top 15 teams in the meatchickens and the hokies both of which lost money and cost the Sugar bowl a big pay day or should I say the city of New Orleans as both Michigan and V-Tech in the end had to shell out money to play in the game. Meanwhile Boise State packed the Maaco bowl making it one of the most successful bowls for their host city and stadium of the season. The BCS will not be making that mistake again.

So the pressure is back on again and much of the football world will be eyes on sets Dec 1st at 3:30 est. Southwick will need to show the Nation he’s not the guy they saw in the MSU game nor the BYU game but more like the guy we’ve seen over these last 2 weeks. The D will need to show the Nation why they are a top 15 defense in the Nation and demonstrate their discipline and smart hard hitting play. The special teams needs to show up as we all know Nevada will be looking to ruin our dreams and cast an iron into the BCS plans. As for the officiating hey we are gone after this year so cheat all you want they stigma will not last that long plus Lord knows ever school in the MWC would love to collect a fat check from one last BCS bowl.

I’m sorry when a team goes 50-3 over 4 years and only gets one BCS bowl I surrender to the powers that be. I will not feel guilty for one minute as the system owes us and we owe them only one thing the total support of our team Boise State.
