As the date turns to December 23rd there is still one more holiday before Christmas. Happy Festivus to everyone out there. So it is time to get the Festivus pole out and air all of our grievances and tell everyone about how they have let us down this year. But we have to get ready as the feats of strength are coming up.
For those who do not know what Festivus is just watch the video below and get educated and learn how to celebrate such a wonderful holiday before Christmas.
Alright now that we are all on the same page lets get the airing of grievances going.
1.$40 parking at Gillette Stadium- This one is self-explanatory but really $40 for parking is just an outrage and that is saying you park in a $40 lot there are many others that change even more. it would be one thing if you paid $40 and got right out after the game or concert but it is another when after you have to wait an hour or so before you even more out of your spot. This leads me to grievance number two.
2. 3 hours of traffic on route 1- Anyone who has ever attended a Patriots game knows exactly what I am talking about. You exit the game and look at the roads and all you see is break lights. It is not even worth it to try to exit at this time it is better to just set up the tailgate setup again and relax instead of sitting in all of that traffic.
3.People who leave the game early- Nothing gets me more aggravated than people who leave the game early for no reason. You pay all of that money for tickets, parking, and tailgating but leave the game early. That’s like not eating your entree at a restaurant, you are not enjoying the best part. Obviously, it is okay for some people to leave early if they have a hard time walking of don’t like the large crowd well exciting. But for a normal person to just leave halfway through the game for no reason but to beat the traffic is just ridiculous. You showed up 5 hours before the game why are you now in a hurry to leave.
4. In game ceremonies- Anyone who watch the Bruins and panthers the other night knows exactly what I am talking about. Nothing is more of a momentum killer than a ceremony that stops play for a full five minutes. For those who missed in in last night Bruins Vs. Panthers game Jagr got an assist that puts him alone as number two on the all-time points list. This is great it’s a memorable moment but to stop the game review the goal to make sure he assisted it and then have a ceremony that is just ridiculous. If you want to have one pregame the next game that is fine but to stop the game that is just not needed.
5. The Price of tickets- This one is a no-brainer. There is nothing more outrageous than the price of tickets to any professional sporting event. I am not just talking about the Patriots here the Bruins, Celtics, and Red Sox are all also guilty of this crime. I get it they are a business and they need to make money but when face-value of a Patriots ticket is just about $100 and up that’s just crazy. That is if you are lucky enough to get them at face-value. The secondary market prices are crazier. Nothing beats looking at a face-value of a ticket and then thinking about how much you actually paid for it. If you have season tickets you should not be able to turn them for a profit. Most of you got these tickets to go to the game not to sell them and turn a profit so it bothers me when season ticket holders don’t go to games and sell every game. If you are going to sell your tickets at least sell them for face-value.
these are just 5 of my many sports grievances, what are your top sports grievances?
