An unbelievable turn of events for the small school out of Worcester, Massachusetts, Holy Cross made it to the NCAA tournament with 19 losses. A win last night against Lehigh (they defeated Duke in the tournament a few years back) , gave Holy Cross the Patriot league title and a bid to the NCAA tournament.
As the 9th seed, Holy Cross was mainly projected to be eliminated from contention from the start of the quarterfinals. Some how some where, Holy Cross silenced the critics with stunning victories over Loyola (MD), Army, Bucknell and Lehigh.
Holy Cross is the 25th team ever to enter the NCAA tournament and they lost every road game this year (0-9).
Notable Alumni from Holy Cross- Tommy Heinsohn, Bob Cousy
Holy Cross is projected as the #16 seed and has all odds stacked against them as the committee is sorting out the teams and rankings.
