Important Dates for 2016-2017 NFL Season

Below are some dates to keep in mind as the season is about to start. Training camp opens for the Patriots tomorrow at 9:15 am at Gillette Stadium. All dates are subject to change by the NFL.

July 27: Training Camp Opens

August 4-7: Hall Of Fame Weekend in Canton, Ohio

August 9: Deadline for players under contract to report to their clubs to earn an accrued season for free agency.

August 11-14: If a drafted rookie has not signed with his club by this date, he cannot be traded to any other club in 2016, and may sign a player contract only with the drafting club until the day of the Draft in the 2017 League Year.

September 3: Prior to 4:00 p.m., clubs must reduce rosters to a maximum of 53 players on the Active/Inactive List.

September 5-9: Clubs may establish a Practice Squad of 10 players.

September 8: Season Starts

November 15: Fall League Meeting, Huston, Texas

November 15: NFL International Series Starts

November 15: All Trading ends at 4:00 PM.

January 1: Prior to 4:00 p.m., deadline for clubs to sign their unsigned Franchise and Transition Players, including Franchise Players who were eligible to receive offer sheets until this date.

January 2: Prior to 4:00 p.m., deadline for clubs to sign their Unrestricted Free Agents to whom the “May 10 Tender” was made.

January 14-15: NFL International Series in Mexico City, Mexico.

January 1: Final week of Regular season.

January 7-8: Wild Card Weekend

January 14-15: Divisional Round

January 22: Conference Championships

January 29: Pro Bowl, camping world stadium, Orland, Florida.

February 5: Super Bowl LI, NRG Stadium, Houston, Texas.
