Okay, but what about Andrew Wiggins? Well, since that play, he has scored 25+ points in only six games. Four of those games, by the way, occurred when Butler was out with an injury.
The correlation is worrisome for many Wolves fans going forward. Especially when Andrew has yet to figure out how to contribute in a meaningful way anywhere else on the stat sheet.
Butler is now out with a torn meniscus and the Wolves have a sub .500 record with him out of the lineup. Can Wiggins assert himself like he did at the beginning of the season and help KAT break the 14 year playoff drought that has plagued this franchise?
And perhaps more importantly, can Wiggins and Butler thrive together in Minnesota?
