Javier Baez is known for his crafty slides and attempting to do whatever he can to help his team win. Sometimes, though, his ballsy moves leave Cubs fans feeling breathless.
That’s what happened during Sunday’s game against the Braves, when Baez slid headfirst into second base on a pickup attempt. Unfortunately, his head collided with Ozzie Albies’ knee, which looked really scary at first glance.
Baez attempted to tough it out and tried to remain in the game at first, but had to leave soon after.

He did not enter the concussion protocol, however, which is good news going forward.
Javy was experiencing blurred vision after taking knee to eye area. Reports are positive at this time. Not in concussion protocol

Cubs hoping Javy won't miss any time after today. Being further evaluated right now. Blurred vision subsided quickly after he was removed.

Javy will stay behind in Chicago for further testing but Cubs expect him to fly to PIT Monday morning and hope he'll be ready to play.

Good news for Baez, who seems to be OK after initially being quite shaken up from the nasty collision.
