Longtime Red Sox Color Analyst Jerry Remy has been very open with his battle with lung cancer. This has been an ongoing battle for Remy as in June he announced with was diagnosed with lung cancer for the fifth time.
Remy Said Wednesday that he is currently still recovering from his latest lung cancer surgery and that he will be ongoing chemotherapy later this month.
“I’m still recovering from the lung cancer surgery I had back in June and will soon enter the next stage of my cancer treatment. I’ve met with my doctors and I’ll start receiving chemotherapy treatments late this month. I have some difficult challenges in front of me, but I plan to keep fighting this thing. I’d like to thank everybody for their many thoughts and prayers and continued support.”
Remy has been the Red Sox color analyst since 1988.
