Kellen Moore for Heisman

As a person from all his out word appearance you couldn’t wish such an award could be given to a more humble, likable fellow. Granted I don’t know him but it’s easy to read his reactions to questions from the media. I’ve watch him more recently with the advent of having access through the Mountain West network on Direct TV, it seems at times when asked question about himself he gives a look like wow do you really think so while at the same time he is very at easy talking about the things he needs to do to prepare for an upcoming game. Always giving his team mates credit is easy to do but listening to him talk about an upcoming game and you start to believe the next victim on Boise States schedule might actually present problems for the Bronco offense. Sure it would be nice to give such a nice guy the highest award in college football, but it’s not the nice guy award it’s the best college football player award and for that I submit Kellen Moore is the best player in college football and the facts will bear this out.

While it would be easy to point out his history in FBS play but the award unlike team rankings are not based on pass and assumed achievements but on actually play on the field.

So let’s take a look at just what Kellen has done this year before even playing a conference game.

To me the most impressive stats of which there are many in regards to Kellen is both his RedZone and 3 rd and goal stats.

On 3rd and goal Kellen is 5 for 5 with 4 TD’s a QB Rating of 384.2 !

His 3rd down regardless of distance is 32 of 48 66% and a 152.2 QB rating

Make that just 3rd and long 11+ yards and his rating goes up to 155.4 with 2 td’s on 5 of 9 passing

Those are back braking stats to any Defense but when you add the kicking issues this year and you have him 3 of 5 on 4th down for a 145.7% qb rating. Kellens overall numbers 125 of 169 for 1391 yard and 17 Ttd’s result in a 74% completion rate and a qb  rating of 171.6.

These numbers alone won’t win Kellen anything right now however when you look inside those numbers along with his 3 half ending drives that ended with touchdowns that sent the apposing team into the locker room wondering just what could they possibly do to stop him.

Not much if anything for all the talk about how Kellen would suffer this year with the loss of Titus and Petis , I being one of those who believe such, are now shocked to see how he has worked to developed his young group of receivers completing passes to 16 different receivers with 7 of them being in double digits in receptions. Instead of falling back Kellen has shown us all just how large his ability truly is. Kellen has taken his game to a new level a level no other college qb can offer, Kellens command on the field as well instills a belief within the team and Bronco Nation, that the General is at the helm and he will lead us threw the dark path in to the light.

Kellen is that special combination of athlete student master and Buda, while some say he appears to have ice in his veins, it’s really not that at all he just knows what he can do if given enough time, confident yet humble what a combination. Humble enough to do the work week in week out. Humble enough to know he will prevail.

While many talk about his size I say this sure go back look at his first red shirt start on the road against Oregon, yep he was 5’ something and a buck 180 tops but when you watch that game you’ll see the same Kellen we see today with one exception he is no longer 5’ something he’s 6’ something adnd if you noticed like I did leading up to the Vagus bowl last year he’s gotten thick sp3ecially in his shoulders, this might explain some of his over throws and under throws as well this year as added strength can require some getting used to.

Kellen can make all the throws we all know that but Kellen can do those things coaches dream of lead! And lead as a coach in the huddle.

I don’t care what team you want to talk about Bama LSU even Michigan if you needed a first down , or you were down by 6 with a minute left there isn’t not an honest coach in the country that wouldn’t want Kellen Moore in there to get the job done and that my friends is why Kellen Moore is the best college football player in America!
