Chicago Cubs pitcher Kyle Hendricks had his breakout season this year, but his first playoff start of the season was cut short.
Hendricks excited the game in the fourth inning after getting hit in the arm by a liner, which happened when Angel Pagan hit a changeup right back at him. The ball hit Hendricks right in the forearm, and the team was not taking any chances with a lead, so he left the game.

Apparently, Hendricks wanted to remain in the game.

The good news is that Hendricks doesn’t have any ligament damage, and was diagnosed with a bruised arm.

The Cubs bullpen stepped up in Hendricks’ absence, though, and Chicago looks to be on its way to a 2-0 series lead.
