Kyle Shanahan’s Eventful week

Practice at Bridgestone Arena

Throughout the chaos that is media day, Atlanta Falcons offensive coordinator lost his backpack for about 15 minutes. In his backpack was the offensive playbook for the high-powered Falcons offense along with super bowl tickets for his family and friends. According to ESPN.com’s Dan Graziano, Jarrett Bell of USA TODAY noticed that Art  Spander, a writer for the San Francisco Examiner, had accidentally picked up Shanahan’s bag.

Shanahan had this to say of the backpack crisis: “I’m stressed out right now. Somebody took my bag, and it had everything in it.”

People were quick to take to social media, blaming the Patriots for taking the backpack (TYPICAL). Social media was filled with posts blaming the Patriots personnel for taking it. Little did they know that it was returned by a random writer 15 minutes later with everything still in it.

Shanahan has had a very busy week. He’s faced countless questions from the media regarding his future as a coach. Now it is not official, but Shanahan is expected to sign a head coaching contact with the San Francisco 49ers after the Super Bowl.

The 37-year-old has coached the Falcons to the #1 offense in the NFL. Falcons led the league in scoring at 33.8 points per game. Falcons finished second in total yards per game at 415.8. Matt Ryan and the passing attack finished the season third in passing yards per game at 295.3. Running backs Tevin Coleman and Devonta Freeman lead the rushing game that finished fifth in the league at 120.5 yards per game. Damn that is one explosive and potent offense. Matt Patricia and that Patriots defense will have their hands full trying to handle all the weapons the Atlanta Falcons offense has.

Shanahan took this Falcons team and easily turned them into the leagues #1 offense. Will we see him in San Francisco nest year? I’m eager to see if he does in fact go to the 49ers and what he can do with the pieces they have. As always, Go Pats. Do Your Job….. just 3 days left until the biggest game of them all. One shot, one chance.
