Landry, Eagles Wipe Out Wagner

wtf

A non-conference showdown for the BC Eagles today, they kept their promise and the sports books, who didn’t even bet on this game, got this one right as the Eagles took out Wagner 42-10 to advance to the next game against Buffalo next Saturday.

QB Patrick Towles redeemed himself from the atrocious week against Virginia Tech and had a great game both in the air and on the ground to help his team to victory. Towles punched in two scores on the ground (7 carries 46 yards 2 scores) and threw for 158 in the air along with 9/16 completions to go nicely with a pair of touchdowns. Along with Towles on the ground, stellar sophomore running back Jon Hilliman took 19 carries for 83 yards and 2 scores to balance out the run game and help the 2-2 Eagles get pass the FCS Wagner Seahawks. On the receiving end, sophomore receivers Michael Walker and converted quarterback to receiver Jeff Smith each caught a pass from the 6’5 Towles in an all around effort from everyone.

On the defensive side of the ball for the Eagles, shutting down Wagner to 107 yards on total offense and giving up one touchdown and field goal compared to Wagner giving up 490 yards of offense for the Eagles. Nonetheless, BC was dominant and it starts with junior DE Harold Landry, who had 3 sacks against the Seahawks and filled the stat log with 6 tackles himself. Landry, over the past three years, has developed into a very good pass rusher and there is no doubt in my mind that he has NFL potential and some team would love to have Landry on their team on Sundays.

Next game: Oct 1 vs Buffalo
