LeBron James complains about team’s failure to sign JR Smith

2015 NBA Finals - Game Six

LeBron James is unique in that he can play the role of forward, coach and general manager. A lot of organizations would not allow for that to happen, but when you have a player of James’ caliber, it’s hard not to give him the flexibility that he wants.

James, the player, spoke out on Friday and criticized the Cavs for failing to re-sign J.R. Smith. Obviously, they still have some time, but James clearly wants the team’s roster to be finalized soon as they begin practicing, which is understandable.

He voiced his opinion on the Smith situation during a media session on Friday.

“I hate coming into another season–two years in a row–with one of my big guns not here,” James said. “So, for a leader of a team and for me personally, I just hate to deal with this sh-t again. It’s just too big of a piece to our team to have to deal with in another training camp.”

James is making it seem like it’s so easy to come to terms with a player and still stay under the salary cap, but that’s not the case. He should be a bit more patient and understanding, rather than ripping the organization that cuts his checks.
