Mountain West Preview: Top 10 NFL Draft Prospects

Matt ReynoldsIn a conference that boasts three teams that have crashed the BCS picture, the NFL prospects have started to come in more frequently.

And with teams like TCU and BYU being perennial Top 25 teams and improved talent across the board, the quarterbacks and offensive tackles have really been the staple of the conference this year and likely in future years as well.

And keep in mind, next season, Boise State’s propsect join this list as well.

1. Matt Reynolds, Offensive Tackle, BYU
-Outstanding the past three year he’s the been the starter, and could be a fringe 1st rounder.

2. Andy Dalton, Quarterback, TCU
-Consistent winner the past few seasons, Dalton has a good enough arm and makes plays.

3. Marcus Cannon, Offensive Tackle, TCU
-Solid run blocking tackle, Cannon needs to show a completeness in his game and improved technique.

4. Tejay Johnson, Safety, TCU
-Powerful safety who can play at both free and strong, Johnson needs to improve his range in coverage.

5. Quinton Porter, Cornerback, UNLV
-Plays great against the run and is a consistent tackler, he needs to stay with speedy guys better.

6. Matt Murphy, Offensive Tackle, UNLV
-A four year starter, he has the experience and technique, but he isn’t a great overall athlete.

7. Mychal Sisson, Outside Linebacker, BYU (JR)
-Moves well on the outside and dissects the play effectively, Sisson needs to filter through traffic better.

8. Jimmy Young, Wide Receiver, TCU
-Has benefited from a run dominate offense and a great quarterback, Young needs to show better breakaway ability.

9. BJ Williams, Defensive End, San Diego State
-Three year starter and disruptive force for a very mediocre 3-3-5 defense, Williams needs to stand out on a poor team.

10. Brandon Bradley, Cornerback, BYU
-Solid tackler in an average passing conference, Bradley needs to stay consistent and show big play ability.
