NBC Is Ready For 6,755 Olympic Programming Hours

Get the coffee and energy drinks ready because NBC has put aside 6,755 programming hours to cover the Rio Olympics. Fan will have the option to live stream every Olympic sporting event on the NBC Sports app and on NBCOlympics.com.

This is being called the most live Olympics ever as in 2012 there was only 5,535 hours of coverage. We are lucky we will be getting over a thousand extra hours of Olympic coverage. So Bob Costas better be ready to hit the ground running because we do not have time for pink eye this year nor do I want to see that disturbing image again.

NBC Prime-time broadcast will be from 8 pm to midnight most nights. Well daytime coverage will start at 10 am and run until 5 pm. Late-night coverage of the Olympics will run from 12:35 am to 1:35 am. And for all those night owls out there replays will be shown from 1:35 am till 4:30 am.

NBC”s coverage of the Olympics will begin August 3rd, two days before Opening Ceremony, there is Women’s Soccer on.

NBC has recruited a slew of other channels to help broadcast all the action of the Rio Olympics. Fans will be able to find Olympic events on the Golf Channel, Bravo, CNBC, MSNBC, USA Network, Telemundo and NBC Universal.

So get your sleep now because come August 3rd most America will not be sleeping as we cheer on all of our athletes representing us.
