It is that time of the year again where NCAA Winter Sports are all deep in the playoffs. Well all eyes are on basketball there are some very good hockey games coming up for some New England colleges. This year’s regional tournaments will take place this coming weekend, with the East tournament happening in Albany, NY and the Northeast regional in Worcester, MA.
In the Northeast region the action will start Friday night with a doubleheader as Providence (27-6-4) will take on Minnesota Duluth (18-15-5) at 4:30 PM, followed by Harvard (19-10-4) and Boston College (26-7-5) at 8:00 PM. The Northeast regional championship will take place on Saturday March 29th at 9:00 PM.
The East regional will be taking place on Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday ranked #1 in the country Quinnipiac (29-3-7) will play RIT (18-14-6) at 4:00 PM. than at 7:30 Yale (19-8-4) will take on UMass Lowell (24-9-5). The Championship game will take place on Sunday at 7:30 PM.
Also worth mentioning that Boston University (21-12-5) and Northeastern (22-13-5) will also be in the tournament but in different parts of the country. Boston University will be playing in the West regional tournament in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Their game is on Saturday at 6:30 PM and they will take on Denver. Well Northeastern will be playing in the Midwest regional where they will take on North Dakota this Friday at 2:00 PM.
