NFL Honors: Complete List of Winners

burningtowel

We’re under 24 hours until the New England Patriots take on the Atlanta Falcons in the Super Bowl. All the drama, all the interviews, all the polls are over. Before we can get to the game however, the league would honor the best of the best at the 6th Annual NFL Honors.

This is the only the sixth time the NFL has put on such an occasion, and it has always happened the night before the big game. If you’re a Patriots fan, the show is basically a time-waster while counting down the hours until kickoff. To find out who won what, check out the full list below:

Most Valuable Player: Matt Ryan – QB, Atlanta Falcons

Coach of the Year: Jason Garrett – Dallas Cowboys

Assistant Coach of the Year: Kyle Shanahan – OC, Atlanta Falcons

AP Comeback Player of the Year: Jordy Nelson – WR, Green Bay Packers

Offensive Rookie of the Year: Dak Prescott – QB, Dallas Cowboys

Defensive Rookie of the Year: Joey Bosa – DE, Los Angeles Chargers

Offensive Player of the Year: Matt Ryan – QB, Atlanta Falcons

Defensive Player of the Year: Khalil Mack – OLB, Oakland Raiders

This year there were Co-Winners for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award. Larry Fitzgerald and Eli Manning each received the honor for their contributions on and off the field.

The Hall of Fame’s Class of 2017 was also announced at the NFL Honors and it featured some obvious choices and lacked some apparent snubs*. Kurt Warner, LaDainian Tomlinson, Jason Taylor, Jerry Jones, Kenny Easley, Terrell Davis and Morten Andersen(?) will be forever enshrined in Canton, Ohio.

*Ty Law didn’t make it into the Hall of Fame. Some kicker who played for five different teams got inducted instead. Law only went to five Pro Bowls and won three Super Bowls, not bad.

PS: Get some sleep tonight. Kickoff tomorrow, 6:30PM ET.
