The 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled that the lockout will continue until June 3rd, when the next hearing will determine whether or not the NFL Owner’s lockout is legal. By the looks of it, the pattern of rulings lean in favor of the owners for the June 3rd ruling as well. The ruling will be determined by the same three appellate judges who sided with the NFL with today’s ruling – not good for the players.
This is setting the stage for a bold prediction Chris Collinsworth made, citing the lockout could last until November or a complete season loss.
There will be another day of mediation, but no one really believes anything will come from it, but you just never know at this point. One thing is for sure, the owners have the leverage; furthermore, its been said this whole battle has been more about which side will win the leverage instead of compromise. Owners 2, Players 1.
That being said, today’s ruling could be several wins ahead for the owners, and the player’s may have to get a deal done sooner rather than later.
Let’s hope something will get ironed out, fans are getting increasingly upset and annoyed by all the rhetoric and no football.
