There was speculation that Jason Witten or DeMarcus Ware could be featured on the Madden 2010 cover. Its been said that the Madden curse is real, and you can go back in history and come up with some eerie facts. For now though, there won’t be any Dallas Cowboys featured on the cover. According to the AZ Central, EASports is leaning towards Larry Fitzgerald as their lead man for the cover.
Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald might be on the cover of EA’s Madden NFL 10, according to a league source, and he might not be alone. Steelers safety Troy Polamalu might appear with him.
It makes sense. The Cardinals and Steelers played in Super XLIII last February. They open the preseason against each other on Thursday night, Aug. 13, the day before the game comes out.
EA will reveal its cover on April 24, the day before draft weekend. (AZCentral)
Fitzgerald’s potential appearance on the cover isn’t good news for Cardinals fans who believe in a Madden curse. Several players who have appeared on the cover, including Michael Vick, Shaun Alexander and Donovan McNabb, suffered injuries the following season.
If you believe in the Madden Curse, then the news of no Cowboys being on the cover is great news.
