If you want a lock for a first time ballot NFL Hall of Famer, look no further than Larry Allen. Allen just made it to the finalist list, and should be a lock for being voted into the HOF. This is a nomination I have been waiting for and the moment is almost here for Cowboys Nation, he is the best offensive lineman in the history of the Cowboys franchise and he’s a top 5 all-time in the history of the NFL. He was versatile, playing tackle and guard.
You’re talking about a man, a mauling machine, that played with tenacity and power throughout his career. He has all the accolades to back up his play, someone who was instrumental in paving the way for Emmitt Smith and I’m sure Emmitt would agree 1000 times over. Just look at this resumé:
- All-Rookie Team 1994
- Super Bowl Ring
- 7-time All-Pro
- 11-time Pro-Bowler
- 90’s Decade Team
- 2000’s Decade Team
- Dallas Cowboys Ring of Honor 2011
Wow.
Larry Allen known to Cowboys fans as L.A. and was one of the best to have ever played the game. I’m glad I was there to watch his entire career and be in awe of his dominance. This should be the blueprint the Cowboys current offensive line should mold their line after. You need that dominant, nasty, durable guy on the line and we haven’t had that since he left.
Hall of Fame Voters, this is a no brainer. First ballot all the way. Get the big man in there.
