The Cowboys have given out another new contract, this time it goes to WR Patrick Crayton. Crayton was set to hit the market this coming offseason; however, the Cowboys have other plans for the rising star.
The Cowboys re-signed Crayton to 4yr deal for $14 million, including a $6 million dollar signing bonus. Not a bad deal. The Cowboys needed to lock down Crayton. Its my belief that this will be Glenn’s last season, and the draft prospects for the 2008 draft look grim. In addition, the free agent market for WRs is nothing spectacular at all. Smart move by the Cowboys. We’re probably looking at Terrell Owens and Patrick Crayton as the main guys for 2008. I have a feeling though, that another WR could be added via trade, question is who?
I love this re-signing, but I’m still waiting for Marion Barber to get his deal. I don’t not want to see this situation getting fouled up in a way that sends Barber out of town or something similarly stupid. Get Barber signed. The Cowboys work best with the Quadruplets (Romo, Owens, Witten, and Barber) on the field, take away one and the offensive juggernaut is significantly weakened.
