The Patriots have finally confirmed that orthopedic surgeon Mark D. Price of Massachusetts General Hospital has been named the team’s head physician and medical director. The Patriots as of lately have had a smorgasbord of team doctors as this is the third doctor in the last four years.
Massachusetts General Hospital has provided the Patriots’ many medical directors over the years. As all the past medical directors dating back to 1982 have all come from Massachusetts General Hospital.
Price earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Harvard University in 2003. Price was also has experience in the armed forces as Commander in the US Navy Reserves and served in combat operations in Afghanistan. In Afghanistan he earned a Bronze Star Medal for his service.
Price who has a very impressive doctor resume has been a shoulder expert over the past couple of years. He has also been the Red Sox team physician since 2008 and has been an assistant for the Patriots and Bruins sense 2009.
