Patriots Training Camp Preview

It’s that time of year again! 2015 Patriots Training Camp will be held from Wednesday July 29th until August 2nd. The Dana Farber practice facilities is where training camp is held each year for those newcomers wanting to attend. We have new faces which most of us are waiting to see close up and maybe get an autograph or two. Here are some newly acquired players/veterans who fans like myself are excited to see.

Scott Chandler TE– Acquired from the Buffalo Bills, Chandler is a massive human being (6’7 260 pounds) and is projected to be in the starting lineup with Gronk. Chandler is a deep threat tight end with great blocking abilities to create more open space up the field. Chandler is a player that most fans will expect to make the roster and start.

The Entire Patriots Secondary- 99.9% of fans will absolutely criticize the Patriots secondary due to Revis departing & Browner. Fans will want to watch he secondary for sure and to expect who will be the top corner/safety on each side. Robert McClain, Bradley Fletcher, Derek Cox, Malcolm Butler and the others will be one of the most sought out people from training camp besides Tom Brady.

LeGarrette Blount RB- Blount will be a face to watch since the Patriots have a crowded backfield with Bolden, Gray, Cadet (acquired from Saints), Tyler Gaffney (waived by Panthers last year during T.C) and James White ( drafted last year from Wisconsin) and Dion Lewis. Will the 6′ 250 pound wrecking force fight for a spot on the team despite off the field issues and heavy competition? Chances are possibly but we will find out.

Jimmy Garoppolo QB- Despite the presence of veteran Matt Flynn, Garoppolo will get the nod. Garoppolo has a very good release time with the football and is more mobile than Flynn. Entering his 2nd season, fans will look for Garoppolo with ease and will hope he rises to his full potential. He is a solid quarterback and has all the tools to be a player who plays for a good amount of time. Fans will grade him hard on a interception he throws or he slips but in the long run, he will be a excellent option for the Patriots.

The Rookies- What we did with Vince Wilfork was sad but it was time for a change. Drafting Malcom Brown out of Texas was a clear indicator from all of us that he would be replacing the legendary nose tackle. Jordan Richards was our second round pick out of Stanford and is being praised for his high IQ of football. Tre Jackson from Florida St provides the Patriots with more lineman and Trey Flowers gives Belichick a quick edge rusher. Joe Cardona the long snapper from Navy, snaps the ball at a whopping 41 mph and will replace Danny Aiken. Darryl Roberts from Marshall is a lanky corner who’s catch radius is wide. Xzavier Dickson from Alabama is a 6’3 linebacker with tools to be a starter on special teams and paired up with Hightower and Ninkovich. Geneo Grissom provides versatility at tight end and defensive end. Watch out for these explosive rookies to impress in training camp.
