Well that went as planned, not. You could tell it was going to be like this any time everyone says it’s going to be a blow out it usually is not. The Colts put up a fight but the Patriots fought harder and that’s why they won the game.
The first half was really a trade in jabs back and fourth but by the second half the Patriots started to seize control and paved the way to a victory. For the first time sense 2007 the Patriots are 5-0 and the fans could not be any happier.
Brady come out ready to go and firing the ball. The Colts also came to play as they would get an opening drive touchdown. Brady went 23/37 with 312 yards and a touchdown. But it was not all good in the hood as Brady would throw his first interception of the year which would be returned for a touchdown. You really can blame Brady for the pick as it was more Julian Edelman’s fault. Brady threw the ball perfectly and it hit Edelman in the hands but bounced up and Mike Adams would be there to pick it off and run it back.
This may have been Andrew Luck’s first game back but he showed not rust at all. He finished the day going 30/50 with 312 yards and 3 touchdowns. They put a lot of trust in Luck early in the game the opening drive it was fourth down and they decided to go for it deep in the red zone. Luck connected with Moncrief on a perfectly placed 5 yard pass for the touchdown. He was really a threat all day and even had a 25 yard rush late in the 4th quarter.
It was not all good for Edelman last night as he would as he messed up his finger pretty badly early in the game. He would continue to play but you could tell it was affecting his game; he was having a hard time catching the ball.
During the game we saw one of the most bizarre formations. The colts tried a fake punt formation that looked like this. Now you would think that they were trying to get the Patriots to jump offsides but they did not. They actually snapped the ball, yes they actually snapped it. It has to be one of the worst plays I have ever seen. This play makes the butfumble acceptable.
The Patriots also blocked a kick and it was perfect. After the Colts touchdown late in the 4th quarter Jamie Collins jumped the line perfectly not even touching anyone and blocked the kick, it was a text book play.
The Patriots will now head home and prepare to take on the Jets next Sunday at 1:00 pm. Here are my personal highlights from last nights game.
