A homecoming trip for Tom Brady, his first time back in the Bay Area in his 17 year career, as he is preparing to take on the struggling 49ers team, led by the controversial Colin Kaepernick.
With a disappointing loss last Sunday in Foxboro against Seattle, the Patriots are once again setting for redemption and who other to lead the charge than the G.O.A.T. himself. Having recorded over 1600 yards so far this season and having a well balanced offense, it’s no surprise that all the sport books and statistical gurus out there are all projecting New England to win by a commanding margin. We all know that last Sunday came down to once again another controversial play, which resulted in no penalty, but it is a new week and the playoffs will be here before we know it.
Looking at this offense in New England, utilizing running back James White in the backfield and out in the flat has produced in lots of different ways. He could be the difference maker in this game if they decide to use the two dynamic backfield players (Blount and White), but with all the talent they possess on this roster, it’s no doubt that New England should take this victory this Sunday.
On San Francisco’s end, things have been a jumbling mess. Losing eight straight games, the miscommunication and lack of explosive play makers has been week in and week out killing this club. A promising player is running back Carlos Hyde, who like LeGarrette Blount, is a powerful back with shifty moves once the holes are created from the offensive line. Just with his sheer size (6′ 235 pounds), Hyde creates his own paths, but ultimately relying on his offensive line against an aggressive Patriots front seven does not sound so promising, so Hyde has his work cut out for him this Sunday.
This is the first road game for the Patriots since October 30th out in Western New York, but nonetheless, a west coast visit this week followed by a stop to the Meadowlands, should not phase the red hot Pats. After these two road games, yours truly will be in New England when Jared Goff (if he is starting) and the L.A. Rams come to Gillette in what should be a interesting match up.
