The New Orleans Pelicans are trying to resign former Pelican forward Dante Cunningham but are receiving competition from the Minnesota Timber-wolves. This latest info comes courtesy of ESPN Adrian Wojnarowski “New Orleans is trying to re-sign F Dante Cunningham, but Minnesota is proving to be one suitor tough to beat on him.”
The Pelicans are cash trapped & looking for a reliable option now that starting small forward Solomon Hill is out with a torn hamstring for 6-8 months. The Timberwolves are also looking for depth at the forward position & Cunningham spent 2 years with the Minnesota before coming to New Orleans.
This moves shows the Pells lack of faith in the position by attempting to sign Cunningham, who averaged 6.0 ppg 3.6 rebs 46% fg & 35% from 3 pt land in 3 seasons with New Orleans.
