I think it’s safe to say we have all seen enough of Morris Claiborne, he can’t play. The Cowboys coverage has them playing in man coverage and zone coverage and he can’t play in either. Today’s game was probably the last straw.
Yes, Claiborne had the final INT to help close out the Rams, but before that he was being targeted by the Rams OC / Rams QB and the results were horrific. His play, or lack thereof cost us 21 points and that cannot continue.
I talked about wanting to see Carr, Scandrick and Moore in the starting lineup, but for what ever reason the Cowboys left Claiborne in there. If these guys want to be competitive they had better bench Claiborne and start the players that can play.
He’s had a bad career, and a bad season thus far, its time to dump the player. What do you guys think, honestly? Take the Poll:
The trade deadline is Oct 28, 2014.
Can you imagine more games with Claiborne on this team, he will cost us points and we cannot afford more outings like today.
The Cowboys could probably get a conditional 6-7th round pick for Claiborne, and we’re being completely honest here. Or the Cowboys can do a player-for-player trade. The Cowboys have typically done player-for-player trades when they don’t see a future for a player and we try to get anyone in return.
In 2004, we traded the troubled, overrated, bust type player Antonio Bryant to Cleveland for Quincy Morgan. Morgan didn’t last long and neither did Bryant in Cleveland.
This past offseason the Cowboys traded Ben Bass to the Patriots for Justin Green. Green didn’t make the team.
Will 2014 hold a player-for-player trade for Claiborne? It probably won’t, but it should. It’s time to move on.
If I’m Dallas, I’m trading Claiborne. I start Carr, Scandrick, and Moore. We also have Tyler Patmon waiting in the wings who has made more plays in his short time than Claiborne has done.
