The Oakland Raiders signed Vance Walker formerly of the Atlanta Falcons. He’s a defensive tackle and is the latest addition to the defense for general manager Reggie McKenzie.
As for Walker he played in all 16 games in 2012 and started eight of those games, which is a career high. Also, set personal bests with 32 tackles (21 solo), three sacks and forced one fumble. He’s 6’2″ 305 pounds and adds depth on the defensive front line. Overall has played in 58 career games with 10 starts, totaling five sacks, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery since entering the league as a seventh-round draft choice (210th overall) in 2009.
Walker will enter his fifth season and becomes the sixth defensive player the Raiders have signed since the start of free agency, joining linebackers Kaluka Maiava, Nick Roach and Kevin Burnett, defensive tackle Pat Sims and defensive end Jason Hunter.
Also, the Raiders got awarded with one compensatory draft selection – 6th round, 37th pick in the round, 205th overall – in the 2013 NFL Draft.
