Last week, Rams Headquarters talked about the San Diego Chargers slim chances of joining the Rams in Los Angeles. Now, Another team in the mix may have pulled their card from the hat to join the Rams in Los Angeles.
According to multiple reports,The Oakland Raiders are one step away from approving taxpayer funds for a new stadium. They have the funding ready, but will the rest of the league approve the move to Vegas?
If there’s a solution in Oakland, no one has come close to finding it. The biggest problem in the Bay Area is that city of Oakland has made it clear that it won’t be putting any public money toward a new stadium.
For example the Minnesota Vikings new stadium, taxpayers contributed $498 million out of the $1.1 billion total cost. Now imagine In Las Vegas, taxpayers would contribute $750 million of the total $1.9 billion cost.
According to Raiders owner Mark Davis, the Vegas move is no joke.
“No, I would not, and I’ve made that clear,” he said. “The opportunity came up in Las Vegas, and we’re giving it full bore. This is not a pawn in a game. We are serious.
“Right now, I’m focused on Las Vegas. We think it could make a great marriage with Las Vegas and the Raiders.”
With the momentum building for the Raiders, and the city of San Diego coming together to save the team; Los Angeles may be the home for the Rams and only the Rams.
