Former Raiders legend tight end and broadcaster Todd Christensen died on Wednesday morning in Salt Lake City due to complications from surgery, according to BYU, Christensen’s alma mater. Christensen had fought liver disease and other illnesses in recent years, according to The Salt Lake Tribune.
Christensen was a five-time Pro Bowl tight end and two-time Super Bowl champion for the Oakland and Los Angeles Raiders. Before he emerged with the Raiders he took a spot with the New Giants but within the same season he was off to Oakland. In his career he had 461 receptions for over 5800 yards and 41 touchdowns.
After his NFL career Christensen he became an analysis. He will be remembered as one of the game’s more colorful characters, never afraid to speak his mind. Those traits helped him evolve great memorable scenes.
He died at the age of 57, we at The Insciber Mag wish his family our deepest sympathies may he rest in peace.
