Going into the draft this year, fans of the newly minted Los Angeles Rams were hoping for a young star who was capable of leading the team into the future. They got that with the California Berkeley alumni Jared Goff. The California native has shown some serious growth and progress  throughout Training Camp.

The young quarterback was born in Novato,California and is the son of Nancy and Jerry Goff. Jared would attend high school at Marin Catholic High School in Kentfield, California. Goff had impressive success while playing in high school making it to the state championship once while also winning three MCAL championships.

Out of high school, Goff would end up accepting a scholarship offer to play at California Berkeley for collegiate football. Goff impressed in his first couple months at Berkeley so greatly that he would end up being named the first true freshman(not having been red-shirted) to start the season opener at quarterback for the Golden Bears in their history. During College he also earned the honor of the first team All Pac-12 First Team during the 2015 season. Also during the 2015 season, Goff lead the Bears to their first winning season since 2011.

In the 2016 NFL draft Goff was selected by the Los Angeles Rams with the first overall pick. Goff would sign for a contract valued at 27.9 million dollars plus a substantial signing bonus.

Rams fans all over the world will be looking toward the Berkeley alumni, Jared Goff to carry the team all the to the Super Bowl. This young star could just be that very man to carry the Rams to the promised land.
