Rams next win dependent on offensive line and a leader in Goff

The Rams are only one game away from becoming .500  and the offensive line will be the catalyst as to how well the Rams struggling offense will perform against the Dolphins on Sunday.

When asked about what he’s going to change with the offensive line to protect Jared Goff Boras stated “Whether its Case at quarterback, Jared at quarterback, whoever your quarterback is that’s what you want to do.

I mean, no quarterback likes having guys around their feet or in them. We try to do that all the time.” The Rams primary offensive line has allowed 23 sacks to opponents making the Rams the top 10 in the league. Furthermore Todd Gurley’s lack of production is impacted by the offensive linemen’s inability to create holes on run plays leaving it up to the quarterback to string together drives through the pass.

There is no doubt the opposing defenses are aware of this which is why Gurley has been forced to become a part-time receiver. With the Rams offensive line’s poor blocking ability, Goff will need to voice his frustrations with his protection if he ends up struggling early.

What are the best chances to a win in Jared Goff’s NFL debut? “Doubling teaming Ndamukong Suh, helping Rob [Havenstein] out” said coach Jeff Fisher as he expresses his concerns with the Miami defensive line. After Wednesday’s practice Rob Boras commented on what Jared Goff brings to the table, “He’s quick, he’s decisive. We saw how tough he was at Cal.

Hope he doesn’t have to be that tough and take hits but we saw his toughness. His ability to escape and extend plays.” During Goff’s time at Cal under the coaching of Sonny Dykes the team gave little pass protection. Luckily Goff’s ability to get rid of the ball quickly will help him overcome some of the Rams offensive lines troubles but expect him to get hit a lot.

Boras also added “He’s a tall guy and this is a big man’s game”. Goff who is at 6’4 will be able to see his receiving corps a bit more than his predecessor who stands at 6’1. The Rams who in their last three games have passed the ball 66 percent of plays will look to burn the Dolphins secondary and with Goff now under center he truly is the only hope to win as the defense struggles to create turnovers and according to Boras the offensive line won’t make any changes.
