Red Bulls Face Tough Challenge in Houston

The New York Red Bulls face a tough challenge this week as they head out to Texas to take on the Houston Dynamo. After losing at home to Chivas USA, the road does not get any easier for New York. Houston sits only two points behind the Red Bulls and with a win, the Houston Dynamo can take over first place in the Eastern Conference.

If the Red Bulls are going to win this game, they are going to have to do so without Thierry Henry. The French superstar has been quite the playmaker in the past few games, but he will miss this next game due to injury. Reports of a swollen knee, suffered against Chivas USA, are keeping Henry out of the roster. To fill his absence, Coach Hans Backe may look to teen superstar Juan Agudelo or Mehdi Ballouchy. Agudelo has not seen much of the playing field after losing his starting spot to Luke Rodgers. However, he has yet to disappoint on the pitch.

The last time these two teams played each other a goalkeeping error by New York allowed Houston to come away with a point. In order to salvage a point from this game, the defense will need to rebuild. Goalkeeper Bouna Coundoul will need to communicate well with the defense to assure that error does not occur again.

The Houston Dynamo have not won since a 4-1 victory against D.C United on April 29th. They will look at keeping possession against New York as a key to winning the game. The Dynamo are coming off of a draw at Real Salt Lake. With the draw, they will be charging into Robertson Stadium seeking three points from New York.
