President of Baseball Operations for the Boston Red Sox Dave Dombrowski announced Thursday morning, that left-handed pitcher Drew Pomeranz will start the season on the 10-day disabled list. This seems like a Roster management move to me so the Sox can have that extra reliever for the first 6 games of the season.
He will be placed on the list with a left forearm flexor strain. At the least, he will miss the reaming three spring training games vs. the Nationals and the opening series vs. the Pirates and could possibly come back for the final 2 games vs. the Tigers.
Last year Pomeranz after being traded from the Padres went 3-5 with a 4.59 ERA in 13 starts.
#RedSox just put Drew Pomeranz on the disabled list. Forearm strain.
