Report: Carlos Hyde unlikely to play Sunday vs. Buccaneers

San Francisco 49ers v Buffalo Bills

San Francisco 49ers running back Carlos Hyde is not expected to play Week 7 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Hyde injured his shoulder in the 49ers’ blowout loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, and he remained out of practice on Wednesday. His right arm has been seen in a sling the past two days.

Per Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area, 49ers coach Chip Kelly said before practice Wednesday it would be a “stretch” for Hyde to play Sunday against the Buccaneers.

Hyde is the league’s 11th-ranked rusher with 429 yards, and he is tied for the second-most rushing touchdowns with six.

With Hyde likely out, Mike Davis and Shaun Draughn will presumably split carries against Tampa Bay’s eighth-rated run defense.
