NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport is reporting that the Dallas Cowboys are working the phones, and looking to move up. Rapoport suggested that the player the Cowboys could be targeting is Kony Ealy, DE, Missouri.
Earlier this week Ealy himself said the Cowboys visited with him twice and were very interested in him. Ealy would be plugged in at defensive end, and could be used further at DT in nickel packages. The Cowboys need to get working on getting more pass rushing bodies on the line and that will start today.
Depending on how much the Cowboys want to move up, we could be looking at giving up a 4th rounder to move up higher in the 2nd round. The Cowboys also have three 7th round picks they could package, although, those picks would only equate to about 6 points collectively according to the draft trade chart.
Other guys the Cowboys could be looking at in a trade up could be Demarcus Lawrence, and Scott Crichton. Fans are officially on tight end watch as well. The Cowboys have been notorious in drafting tight ends in the 2nd round.
