TUSCALOOSA – After being linked to a possible move to the Texas Longhorns, Nick Saban will be staying with the Crimson Tide.

Saban, who has led the Crimson Tide to three BCS titles in four years and helped establish Alabama as the modern-day dynasty in college football, signed a multi-year extension to stay in Tuscaloosa.

His second extension in less than a year, which was for over five million at $5.5 million total thru 2020, is worth a reported seven million plus, per year. With the new deal, it takes Saban’s name off of the list of the Longhorns, whom are now linked to Stanford’s David Shaw and the 49ers Jim Harbaugh, should current Longhorns head coach Mack Brown be asked to step down and resign, as rumored.

Under the 62-year-old Saban, Alabama is 74-14 in seven seasons.
