Home sweet home for the Revolution as they continue to play their best soccer well at Gillette Stadium. With this win, the Revs are now 8-2-2 well at home compared to when they are on the road where their record is 0-8-3.
After a tough 4-1 loss to the Chicago Fire last weekend, the Revolution did an excellent job in bouncing back as it was a total team effort in getting the win tonight. “The first half was a chess match,” midfield Kelyn Rowe said and we were correct as no goal it was real back-and-forth soccer as you had both teams trying to do anything possible to find the back of the net first.
The one and the only goal did not come until the 53rd minute when Teal Bunbury finally found the back of the net for the Revs sending the Revs faithful into a frenzy. The goal was assisted by Kelyn Rowe.
With this win, the Revolution are right back in the mix for the final playoff spot. As there are now tied for 8th with the Philadelphia Union and are one point back from that final playoff spot.
The Revolution will now have an extra day off before playing the New York City Football Club a week from Sunday at 6:00 pm at Yankee Stadium. Could this finally be the first road win of the season for the Revs?
