On the other side of the league, the Washington Nationals Max Scherzer was named the National League Cy Young Award winner. Scherzer won a little more handily beating out the Cubs John Lester by 90 votes. Scherzer went 20-7 with a 9.96 ERA in 34 regular season starts.
