Rondo Ejected As C’s Demolish Kings

Rajon Rondo played his old team in Mexico last night but it wasn’t the game he was expecting as the Kings dropped to the C’s 114-97.

Rondo churned out 5 points with 8 assists before he was ejected in the middle of the 3rd quarter. It all started with Rondo quickly receiving a technical foul on DeMarcus Cousins. Rondo was not pleased with the call and stared down referee Bill Kennedy and the rest was history. Kennedy ejected Rondo and the game carried on.

Sacramento was led by SF Rudy Gay. Gay scored 18 and grabbed 7 rebounds to help guide the (7-13) Kings but it fell short. Fellow F/C DeMarcus Cousins only scored 16, which isn’t what you would expect out of him. Along with Gay and Cousins, the Kings also had some help from the bench. PG Darren Collison scored 12 and dished out 5 assists while C Kostas Koufos grabbed 10 rebounds.

The Celtics were dominant. Four players scored 20 points or over (Thomas, Bradley, Crowder, Olynyk) and the C’s got their 11th win of the season. Coach Brad Stevens said this about the game last night in Mexico. “We have been fortunate to have played this year in Milan, Madrid and now Mexico. I’m lucky to be in a team that is a global brand. It*s a responsibility to represent that,” Celtics coach Brad Stevens said. “The crowd was very good, we had a great atmosphere.”
