Shannon Sharpe questions Dez Bryant’s commitment to Cowboys

AFC Championship - New England Patriots v Denver Broncos

With reports being circulated about Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant missing a number of team meetings, analysts have been weighing in about how involved he really is off the field.

In the past, Bryant has argued and got into skirmishes on the field, but he’s moved away from that for the most part. But the subdued Bryant may lack the passion that it takes to be an elite receiver and dominate the game, according to Shannon Sharpe.

The former-receiver-now-FOX-analyst talked about Bryant’s situation and questioned his commitment to football, and added that the game’s top players over the years have put in work both on and off the field, and he’s right (see: Peyton Manning).

We don’t know whether or not Bryant missed 30-40 meeting like the report stated, but it’s clear that something’s there. When there’s smoke, there’s fire. It’s not college anymore, you can’t just show up and play. Preparation is important and even if he’s injured, Bryant needs to participate in that with his teammates.
