<![CDATA[Well, don't hold your breath if you're hoping to seeing Anthony Spencer in action any time soon. The Cowboys re-signed Spencer to a 1-yr deal for $2 million, and the opportunity to hit $1.5 in incentives. The previous year, Spencer was franchise tagged and got paid a nice load of cash and was shelved after 1st game of his 2013 campaign. People have been wondering where Spencer is at in his rehab and sounds like it’s a slow process.
Spencer now reveals:
“I probably won’t see any preseason work” (Sabin, DMN)
Spencer had microfracture surgery which is quite serious and has ended several Cowboys careers over the years, like Jacob Rogers, and Terry Glenn. Both players never recovered and retired. Spencer is likely on the same path. If Spencer is saying he probably wont see any preseason work, then I believe it wholeheartedly. We could very well see Spencer start the season on PUP, that’s what I’m thinking. Spencer has shown some flashes, but the injuries and questionable work ethic have left the Cowboys no choice but to invest heavily this offseason.
At this point I’m not even counting Spencer into the starting line up plans. Start pulling for rookie, DE, Ben Gardner to being the next guy up.]]>
