Sports are a great way to break away from the stress of everyday life. Whether it be playing a quick round of golf, shooting some hoops at the basketball court, or simply laying back at home watching a football game, sports will take your mind off any problems and are a recipe for a good time.
I particularly enjoy keeping up with the latest baseball and football games. However, most of the time I can’t make it in time to watch the game at home. So, I decided to find the best apps I can use on my phone to keep up with the latest sports games. After spending some time researching different websites, I found a pretty handy list of the top 10 best sports apps.
Best 10 Apps for Streaming Live Sports
So, without further ado, I checked out some of the apps and I like how easy they make to check before you actually download. So, I tested a couple of them and reviewed my top 3 favorites.
ESPN for game highlights
My first pick is ESPN. I guess it’s no surprise that they made it into my top 3 list, as they are practically the experts when it comes to covering sports. I found that the developers did a great job at bringing all the coverage you find on ESPN channels to your phone. Not only can you view ESPN TV segments, but you can also listen to live ESPN radio too. I particularly like the in-depth coverage you can find for games in practically any sport, as you can stream games live, view live scores and even watch in-game highlights!
I found it easy to customize my newsfeed by following my favorite sports and teams. However, keep in mind that you will get live update notifications for your favorite teams, so keep an eye on how many teams you follow. Unless you want many notifications on your phone, only follow teams you want to stay on top of.
365Scores for real-time scores
My second pick is 365Scores. This was easily my favorite pick when it comes to app design. I found the interface to be intuitive and easy to use, and I liked how the team badges, player’s pictures, and match lineups are neatly presented against the dark background. I found it easy to find and follow my favorite teams, and tag the matches I wanted to stay on top of. What I really like about it are the up-to-the-minute live score updates you get for your favorite matches. In particular, I loved how you can even watch short videos of the most important moments of the game, immediately after they happen!
Although I love 365Score’s live coverage of sports games, I was not a fan of the occasional ads. However, I found it to be a small price to pay considering that I’m getting real-time scores delivered to my phone with in-depth information for match lineups and statistics.
theScore for sports news
My third pick is theScore. I found this to be a great choice for staying on top of the latest sports news. I liked that not only can you find the latest information on teams and games in a variety of sports, but you can also find details on player statistics and even view videos of game highlights. I particularly like the personalized newsfeed, as I found it to be highly informative with really useful game insights for all my favorite teams.
The only drawback I found it can take a few extra minutes for game updates to show up on the newsfeed. Unlike 365Scores, theScore does have a slight delay when delivering game updates to your phone. However, I found the news coverage, valuable game insights, and in-depth match-statistics to be worth a few extra minutes.
Conclusion
So, these are my top 3 favorite apps for streaming sports live on my phone. My first pick is great for getting a summary of the best in-game highlights. My second pick is great for getting real-time score updates. And my third pick is great for catching up with the latest sports news. Depending on your needs you might prefer one over the other. Or, you can be like me and keep all three on your phone. Have fun watching the games!
