NFL Schedule Released

The Steelers play the Baltimore Ravens in Baltimore on September 11th, 2011. Opening day.

NFL Schedule ReleasedBring it.

Couldn’t ask for a better start to the hypothetical season. You know Mike Tomlin is already pumped. NFL.com has a neat flash app for schedules by team and by week.

Other highlights include:

  • The Steelers’ pitifully easy back half of the schedule.
  • Week 11 bye, nice and late in the season.
  • Primetime games against the Colts, Ravens, Chiefs (?), Browns, and 49ers. That Browns game is a Thursday so it almost doesn’t count.
  • Four straight games against the AFC South, Weeks 3-6.
  • The New York Jets playing “America’s Team” on the ten-year anniversary of the September 11th attacks. Are we obligated to root against the Jets in that one?
  • Jon vs Jim Harbaugh on Thanksgiving Night (Ravens vs 49ers). I don’t recall too many family coaching battles.
  • Michael Vick’s return to Atlanta in Week 2. For some reason we think this already happened but apparently it hasn’t.

We are unbelievably bored here at Blitzburgh Blog. Back to the NHL playoffs.
