Stop the rumors, Tony Romo will not be traded to the Los Angeles Rams

The Dallas Cowboys have had an impressive start to the season with rookie quarterback Dak Prescott, but should he continue to be the starter? It’s strange to imagine Tony Romo not playing for the Dallas Cowboys, and that’s a good thing Los Angeles Rams fans.

Some rumors have been flying around that it could be a slight chance the Rams make a move for the veteran quarterback once he becomes healthy. Let me remind everyone about the Sam Bradford project: How did that end?

The Rams currently have quarterback Case Keenum who is accomplishing more than expect. Don’t agree with me? Read why Keenum is not the problem for the Los Angeles Rams. The team also has rookie quarterback Jared Goff learning in the wing.

The only way the Rams would make a move for Tony Romo is if they were a 100% sure playoff bond team. Folks we are not. Remember what happened to the Minnesota Vikings and Teddy Bridgewater?

The quarterback unfortunately suffered a serious knee injury in practice that would sideline him for the rest of the season. The coaches knew they had a playoff potential team, and needed to fill that role fast.

Hence the Sam Bradford trade and the Vikings are the only undefeated team in the league. Dak Prescott is scheduled to start against Philadelphia; it remains unclear when Romo will be ready to return to action. But the Cowboys rookie is 5-1 and didn’t throw an interception until his 177th pass in the league.

Here’s what Mike Freeman of Bleacher Report reported Romo is worth:

The 36-year-old Romo, one team official suggested, could fetch a mid-round pick “but not much more because of his injury history and age.”

The Rams already took a hit in draft picks because of the Goff trade. Long story short, Tony Romo would not fit in Los Angeles, plus he would get hurt within the first few snaps thanks to the Rams horrible offensive line.
