Towards the end of the Kevin Faulk enshrinement into the Patriots Hall of Fame, current Patriots quarterback Tom Brady surprised Faulk and the audience by saying some heartfelt words about his beloved running back for a good chunk of his career which continues on. Not to mention, Brady was rocking the Kevin Faulk jersey with shorts, high knee socks and crocs while Faulk continued his support for Brady as he wore the #12 blue jersey as he did on the 2016 NFL Draft announcing podium for the Patriots 3rd round pick.
Before Brady made his surprise appearance with Crocs on, Coach Belichick and other members of the Hall described how Kevin Faulk was as a person and what he was on the field. Belichick said he deserved to be in the Hall of Fame and he should “absolutely” be in the Patriots Hall of Fame.
Ty Law, former Patriots cornerback and Hall of Famer at Gillette, recalled a funny drinking incident with Kevin Faulk, at the time Faulk was a youngster trying to survive cuts through Training Camp. This cracked the whole crowd up and gave a humorous side to Kevin Faulk as well. Owner Bob Kraft talked very kindly about Faulk saying that he was a great person off the field with charitable works and volunterring as a rookie and continuing to today with families struggling to get food on the table. Kraft recalled a vivid memory of Faulk and his family when one time, Faulk and his family were giving out turkeys to those in need of a Thanksgiving dinner and that was what Kraft remembers about Faulk off the field.
At the start, Faulk was naming a “roster”, as Belichick said, of people who he thanks for showing the way of professionalism and how to thrive in the NFL environment. Faulk at one point named the running backs he once shared reps with who includes Patrick Pass, the familiar Corey Dillon, and Antowain Smith. He thanked college coaches, past and current pro coaches and lots and lots of teammates for his development into what would become a very successful career.
Congrats Kevin!!
