3. Career Day
The 2007 regular season is probably best remembered for the Patriots going 16-0 and both Tom Brady and Randy Moss’ record performances. But for a while, the Cowboys were running right beside them and Terrell Owens was the only match for Moss in the league.
It’s rather poetic both Moss and Owens are being inducted to the Hall on the same day, just as both had four touchdown performances the same day.
While Moss was dunking on the Buffalo Bills in Buffalo, Owens was putting together a primetime show in Dallas. The touchdowns Brady fed moss were just a piece of the game, Owens was the game.
The game opened up with an early Redskins lead in the first quarter, and it wasn’t until 1:16 before halftime Owens tied up the game.
Owens and the Redskins would exchange scores the rest of the game with Owens coming up on top, scoring all 28 points for Dallas to Washington’s 23. It’s his magnum opus, hauling in 173 yards and four touchdowns on the evening.
