The Comeback Story Of Jimmy Garoppolo As He Defeats Saints

TylerBrayASIW

The Saints were off to a fast start and were looking to blank the Patriots Saturday night but QB Jimmy Garoppolo had different plans. Before Garoppolo entered the game, Tom Brady had some playing time and went 2/5 for 13 yds while Garoppolo took over the duties and went 28 for 33 on completions with 269 yards passing with a touchdown pass and a interception. Garoppolo started his magical comeback when he and rookie WR Chris Harper connected for a 24 yd TD pass which cut the lead for the Saints down to 2 TD’s as the score was 21-7. Then in the third quarter RB Dion Lewis out of Pittsburgh (CBS/WBZ said he was out of Rutgers), ran for a 11 yd TD to make it a one touchdown game. The fourth quarter rolled around and RB James White scored on a 3 yd TD run to cut the lead to one at 21-20 but the two point conversion to take the lead failed. As the fourth quarter went on, K Stephen Gostkowski nailed two field goals which one of them was the game winner and sealed the deal. A great performance by the Patriots late showed all the critics and the NFL that they are not letting the Brady ordeal get to their heads and that Jimmy Garoppolo is ready for the start of the season.
