The gay marriage debate is one that impacts the beliefs of many, yet affects the lives of a select few. It’s effects is on a daily basis, not a moral one and there’s still vigorous and often vicious cycle that doesn’t seem to have an end.
100 years from now people will look back on this nation’s history and laugh. This is enough time to look back at society such as the technology, fads such as Twitter and Facebook will be a distant memory much like that of Atari or the Dumont Network.
During this period this issue has overshadowed more important events.
As of now when it comes to gay marriage people sadly are still worried about what goes on in someone elses bedroom. If the Internet should have taught Americans anything by now, it’s that any kind of sexual behavior or attraction, no matter how tame or deviant, does not know a specific gender or sexual orientation.
Depending on how a search gets done there’s many ways to educate people. There’s informative sites on human sexuality & sexual practices or classes taught at the college level since comprehensive sex education iscurrently frowned upon.
Since the debate is closely tied to politics it’s on the minds of Americans. Most recently Minnesota became the 12th state to legalize gay marriage and hopefully soon the remaining 38 states will follow suit.
