The hypocrisy of ESPN and Pollsters what are you thinking?

From Craig James to Kirk Herbstreit, and the little along for the ride troll Robert Smith add in of all people Lou Holtz, know no limit to their hypocrisy and corporate masters. Let’s face it folks ever since Boise State went on to the MWC ESPN has no desire to support Boise State any longer when they don’t get their 4 to 5 Thursday and Friday night games. Long ago I was told by some who are even bigger sports freaks then I to disregard ESPN talking heads as everyone else in the know already has done. Why for one simple reason ESPN is all about capturing and controlling college football and in the end if you don’t serve the ESPN monster then you will not get any love from ESPN.

I don’t know if Craig James is just retarded or is a lap dog to save his job as many in the viewing world would love nothing more than to see him gone. When one listens to his arguments against Boise State last night all I could do was laugh and think to myself could this guy score higher than 15 on an ACT !

Clearly Craig James would never do well in a debate, every point he tried to make last night in the BCS count down show are stronger agreements for Boise State.  I could point out his remark that one can’t suppose last year’s result and future results, yet Stanford strength of schedule isn’t even half of Boise States are you not predisposing’s that one Stanford is going to win out and end with a stronger strength of schedule then Boise? To claim you are basing your vote and opinion on the eye test and paper test flat out doesn’t pass the smell test, Stanford got Lucky Saturday night when first presented with some semblance of competition they were taken to the limit against a team that has 10 few scholarships had many of what would be veteran players playing at other schools, in other words USC was a shell of a team that had a squeak out a win at Minnesota!!! Think about that! Sure they beat Notre Dame so did Michigan, USF so what?  To place Stanford ahead of Boise State is nothing more than being Bias there is nothing that can be seen from the games played so far that would suggest Stanford could even play Boise State to a close game.

Insult to injury, don’t you just love how they belittle any team Boise Beat but GT beat Clemson handily after losing 2 consecutive games it only goes to prove how hard it is to win in a AQ? Really come on do you really think Boise with home and home games wouldn’t flat out go undefeated with Georgia’s schedule or even  Wisconsin’s? Of course they would, but alas they are Boise State playing in the MWC, winners of 3 of the last 4 bowl conference trophies and the one they lost was won by the WAC! So let me see if I get this right the MWC which won last year’s Bowl series Trophy, 3 of 4 in BCS games with their only loss being to Boise State! Is not worthy. What a joke! Imagine OSU’s kick return is called back because of a blatant no call on holding that allowed that TD Toledo wins, the Big East officials don’t blow not once but twice the bad extra point call and we have a Toledo Rocket team that’s not only 7-1 today but ranked in the top 25! All things being equal Boise wouldn’t have the 24th hardest schedule to date vs Stanford’s 95th! They might have a top 10 strength of schedule.

I might add some real fear factors for the Stooges at ESPN, watch out Tulsa takes down a top 15 rank Houston, Toledo goes on and wins out which all but assured, Georgia win’s out and wins the SEC Championship game, all very real possibilities unless of course thinks the gauntlet schedule myth only applies to teams he didn’t want to see lose? Ironic don’t you think that GT’s win over Clemson was more likely and possible then Georgia winning the SEC Championship, you know because they are a mid-level SEC school who only beats other midlevel sec schools? Right…..

If the above happens which is very very possible and Stanford wins out who ended up playing the tougher schedule? Boise State or Stanford? Certainly many will say well the loser of the SEC championship should play in the MNCG against Stanford even though when all would be said and done Boise many very well had played the toughest schedule of them all.

Now I would like to go beyond the strength of schedule test, and paper test and go on to the eye test.

I’ve heard it said Boise State doesn’t have depth and that’s why they can’t compete in the AQ’s? ok well from an eye test let me compare say this USC lost the game Saturday night in one drive when Stanford in it’s only commanding drive drove the length of the field to score and what the eye test showed me is that USC had no D-Line depth as for the most part all 4 line men played the entire series and flat out where out of breath. This would not happen to Boise State.

Least for forget to look at where Stanford finished last year in strength o schedule

Now Phill Steel just looks at win loss recorders of teams played and as you can see last year Stanford finished near dead last in his ranking and this year they are not fairing much better

This year so far Stanfords Win Loss is slightly worse but the season is far from over 30-36 39.47%

Whereas Boise State which finished last year .

41

Boise St

85

69

55.20%

Currently this season 31-26 which is down as well to 54.38% if trends hold Boise will Finish again much higher than Stanford?

So I start the eye test with Boise States D-Line. It’s 8 deep when comparing this line with all other in the top 15 please tell me which line would you want.

Let’s call this the eye paper test there is not another D-Line in America that can compete across the board 8 deep like Boise States D-line

Going from line to line considering Boise has played to date much stiffer competition then Stanford, this is not an assumption just the facts let’s look at the O-line in regards to depth.

So far this season Boise State has Started 2 different centers, 4 different guards and 3 different tackles.

All of these changes were due to injuries and yet Kellen Moore has only been sacked TWICE!!!!!!!!!!!

Think about that with a rivaling line playing much stiffer competition Boise State has only allowed 2 sacks, yet the espn talking heads say Boise has no depth to go the distance in a AQ conference, does that so far stand up to the paper test or the eye test? All this while Boise State has been rushing for any average of 183 yards a game and passing for 305 yards a game.

Much has been made of Titus Young and Austin Petus leaving for the NFL no doubt to wide outs that will be legends in Boise State history yet, the stooges over at espn claim Boise State lost their big play ability ok let’s see if the eye/paper test agree?

So far through 7 games Boise State has had 27 plays over 20 yards, with 16 of them ending in TD’s lets compare against Stanford no matter how unfair considering the weak competition they have played to date Stanford has had 33 plays over 20 yards and only 12 have ended in TD’s. Humm interesting don’t cha think, Titus and Petis gone yet Boise has more TD’s over 20 yards then the Great Andrew Luck has against lessor competition. I wonder however if Coach Petersen wasn’t such a professional and concerned himself with trophies and stats what Kellen Moore and Boise State stats would be like for they played the blow out games the same way Stanford does? No doubt if Kellen didn’t hit the bench mid 3rd or at the start of the fourth for most games that stats would be even more one sided. But yeah that’s me assuming. I wonder if Kellen could of put up 4 more again Toledo if he had stayed in or 4 more against Colorado after coming out with 8 minutes left in the 3rd. Got to love how voters chose to punish someone because they show respect to their opponents and not totally destroy the other teams moral?

I could go on and on but it’s not just the clowns at espn who don’t do the work and really see what the complete picture is unless of course they have an alternative motive or instruction from corporate!

But there is some issues with these coaches, I mean come on how does a 2 loss GT team that dropped two in a row to Miami and Virginia of all schools not only jump into the 25 after a win over a suspect team but TCU who dominated a 7-2 BYU school that lost by only 1 to Texas at Texas and Beat both a SEC team and Utah State ? However what’s even worse than that is V-Tech 11th ?? Really any team that only beats a Duke team even a good Duke team which this isn’t should be dropped from the rankings, wake up smell the coffee do the work, of all things that I’ve seen from the coaches votes this is the one that screams favoritism and hypocrisy! I’ve held a grudge against the coaches poll ever since that idiot in Columbus was able to fudge the final poll and rob Michigan of a combined National Championship.

In closing Mr.Herbstreit remember when Michigan OSU last game of the year 1 and 2 matched up how you screamed for no rematch in the MNCG? Remember all your thoughts on a rematch? Even when the game ended in a close fought game full of the controversy with an extended game winning drive on a 4th down call for a late hit keep OSU alive you said no rematch that this was a defacto playoff game , why are you so quite when your stooge buddies talk of a LSU Bama rematch in the MNCG?, have your opinions changed? Or are your espn master telling you to shut up because well you know it’s the SEC on espn after all …. There is a reason you guys are for the house hold fan consumption Mr.Herbstreit it’s because you have no real credibility because your master tell you what to say and when to say it.
