The Injury Bug Strikes Again

It has been a hard year for the Patriots when it comes to injuries it seems like every week it is someone new who left the game and did not return. In Huston Sunday it was the same story as Devin McCourty (right ankle), LeGarrette Blount (left hip), Dominique Easley (left thigh) and Jonathan Freeny (hand) all left the game early and did not return.

McCourty and Freeny are expected to be okay and will return in the near future. But on the other hand both Easley and Blount have been placed on season ending IR. This is not good news for the Patriots as the Blount injury inspired the Pats to pick up former Denver Broncos, free agent Montee Ball.

Blount will miss the remainder of the season due to this hip injury he sustained Sunday night in Huston, according to Adam Schefter and multiple reports. With this injury get ready to put the weight of the running back position on Bolden and White.

It would be great to have Blount but I’m not too worried about Bolden and White not delivering. This season so far Bolden has 35 rushes for a total of 110 yards and White has 16 rushes for 41 yards. Get ready for these number to climb, the addition on Montee Ball to the practice squad will also be big for the Patriots but don’t expect him to be playing this week. I’m just waiting for the next week when he has his Blount like come back with a 200+ yard game.

The second injury is defensive tackle Dominique Easley. This injury will be a hard one to overcome. As not having a 6’2, 285 pound monster at tackle is a big hit to the team. This is now the second year in a row that Easley has been placed on the season ending IR. Easley was up to 15 tackles and 2 sacks for the Patriots so far.

The times will not be getting any easier for the Patriots as they get set to take on the Titans Sunday afternoon in Foxborough
